A Letter From the Board of Trustees Aug. 2020

Dear Library Patrons,

Thank you so much for your patience and perseverance during the pandemic. The Board of Trustees for the Pickaway County Library appreciates your cooperation as we try to keep the library staff and the entire community as safe as possible during these uncertain times.

Many of you have shared how library resources have been a comfort to you during this time. During the pandemic, the library has provided safe access to over 100,000 ebook, eaudiobook and streaming movie titles through our online services such as OverDrive, Hoopla and Kanopy.

While the library buildings are not open to the public, physical materials are available for pickup at both library branches and the bookmobile, and staff continue to offer reference services by phone or email. In addition, the Main Library is offering appointments to those who need to use a computer, copier, or fax. The library staff continues to take steps for the community’s safety by quarantining returned materials for four days, wearing masks and gloves, and social distancing.

The Library Board of Trustees thanks you for your willingness to work with us to provide safe access to library services for our staff and the community. We will continue to monitor the pandemic, including listening to local and national health agencies, to determine when it is safe to open library buildings. As always, our goal is to provide as many services as possible in a safe and responsible manner.

Dr. Charles Hedges
