Discussing Yellow Wife by Sadeqa Johnson. (Black History Month) Born on a plantation, Pheby is promised freedom on her 18th birthday. Instead, she ends up at Devil's Half Acre, a jail in Richmond, Virginia, where the enslaved are broken and tortured. (Historic fiction, 278 pages, 2021)

This book club reads fiction & non-fiction. Titles are suggested by members and chosen by the moderator. Evening meetings are held on the fourth Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
