September 2021 Newsletter Cool Critters For All Ages Sept. 18 Cool Critters Outreach will provide a fun interactive look at reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and mammals on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 4:30PM. This program is for all ages and features animals that have been rescued from Ohio, Indianan and Kentucky. Cool Critters Outreach takes in animals that were once pets that their owners no longer wanted or could no longer care for. Some have been confiscated by police or dropped off at a local animal shelter. Cool Critters takes in these animals and adopts them out to suitable homes or utilizes some for educational programs. Please register on the library’s website. Check Out A Computer Tech One-on-one appointments are available with the library’s technology manager on a topic of your choosing. The session could focus on your smart phone, organizing digital photos, creating a poster, etc. Please call the Main Library to schedule an appointment at 740-477-1644 x 224. Community Take & Make Pickaway County Library will offer a limited number of kits to make plastic mats that will be donated to PICCA’s Homeless Services. Participants will need to know how to crochet (or be willing to learn) to create the mats. Kits will be distributed at the Main Library and contain a crochet needle, instructions, and plarn - plastic yarn made from cut up plastic bags. Instructions will also be available for those who want to create their own plarn.
