Featured Service For details, visit pickawaylib.org Technology Trainer Available at Pickaway County Library Through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio, the Pickaway County Library has a Guiding Ohio Online Technology Trainer two days a week. Andrew Hewetson will be available to help patrons every Thursday at the Main Library from approximately 10AM to 6PM. Each Tuesday he will be available at the Pickaway Senior Center, 2105 Chickasaw Drive, Circleville, from 9AM to 11:30AM; and then at the Younkin Branch Library on Tuesday afternoons. He is accepting one-on-one appointments to help individuals with online forms, online shopping, exploring the internet, or simply feeling confident with basic computer skills. He will also teach some classes for beginners. Classes scheduled for Sept. 12 and Oct. 10 are Computer Hardware Basics and Basic Computer Operation. Register online or at any Pickaway County Library location. Hewetson has 13 years of museum education and management experience with the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus. “I’ve developed a passion for making technology accessible and engaging for people of all ages,” he states. His tech journey began with a love of gaming and sparked a lifelong curiosity about computers and digital technology. He has watched technology go from an exciting novelty to a necessity over the last 20 years, and witnessed the difficulties some folks have with acclimating to such rapid development. This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio.
