October 2021 Newsletter Fall-Prevention Classes Offered At Main Library Matter Of Balance classes will be offered to older adults at no cost at the Pickaway County Library from October 25 through November 16. This series is offered in partnership with the library and Central Ohio Area Agency On Aging. Matter Of Balance focuses on managing concerns about falls and emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. The series consists of eight 2-hour classes held typically on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for four weeks at the Main Library in Circleville. The final class will be on a Tuesday. Certified local instructors will lead class discussions about causes and prevention of falls. Participants will learn how to control falls and practice mild exercises that will improve balance, strength and flexibility. Participants will also learn about changes to make in their homes to reduce the risk of falling. Exercises in the program can be done by most individuals and many are done while seated. Younkin Branch Library, 51 Long Street, Ashville, OH 43103; 740-983-8856 Bringing The Olympics To You— October 5 at 6:30PM at Main Library Ohio natives Heather & Cody Nowels will share about their experiences as they traveled and worked for an extended period to bring the Olympics to life for people all around the world. This couple worked at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Computer Classes The library is again teaching computer classes for adults.
