Author Sam Quinones Monday, Sept. 12 7 PM—Main Library We will host an in-person watch party as author and journalist Sam Quinones joins us for a virtual discussion of his books Dreamland (2015) and The Least of Us (2021), which chronicle America's opioid crisis. In-person participants will be entered in a drawing for a free ticket to the Sept. 22 Recovery Celebration in Chillicothe where the winner will be seated at Mr. Quinones' table. Ultra Running with Kelly O’Dell Tuesday, Nov. 1 6PM Main Library Local resident Kelly O’Dell ran 135 miles in less than 48 hours through Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, California. The Badwater 135 is an invitation-only race for 100 runners that starts at the lowest elevation in North America and finishes at the trailhead to Mt. Whitney summit, the highest point in the contiguous United States. Kelly will share her drive to be an ultra runner and the training it takes to finish races.
