Local history will be in the spotlight in April at the Pickaway County Library with three lectures scheduled.

David Sager of the Library of Congress will present about Isham Jones, a contemporary of Ted Lewis, on Sunday, April 7, at 1:30PM at the Main Library. Sponsored by the Ted Lewis Museum, this lecture will focus on Jones as a bandleader, composer and native of Coalton, Ohio. This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Ohio Humanities Council.

At the Younkin Branch Library on Saturday, April 20, Keith Zumsteg from Ohio’s Small Town Museum will discuss the history of the museum and some of the awesome things you can see at the museum. The presentation will begin at 2:30PM and you can enjoy some lite snacks during the presentation.

Dr. Jarrod Burks, archaeologist the director of Archaeological Geophysics with Ohio Valley Archaeology Inc., will be presenting his findings and other information about the historic farmhouse, Mount Oval, in this fun, engaging presentation on Thursday, April 25, at 6:30PM at the Main Library . This program is co-sponsored by the Pickaway County Historical Society.
