Savor Summer All Winter

August is prime harvest time for veggies from the garden and great sale prices in the grocery store. Keep the fresh summer taste all winter long by freezing some of the bountiful produce.

OSU Extension Educator Michelle Treber will cover how to safely freeze vegetables and fruits with minimal costs at the Pickaway County Library. You can freeze corn on the cob, peas, carrots, tomatoes, squash and more to enjoy their summer-fresh taste in the winter.

The 90-minute program will be offered at the Main Library on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 5 p.m. and repeated at the Younkin Branch Library in Ashville on Monday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m.

Treber will also test pressure-canner dial gauges for accuracy following both presentations.

The Main Library is located at 1160 N. Court Street, Circleville; the Younkin Branch Library is located at 51 Long Street, Ashville.
