The bookmobile visits county elementary schools, day care centers, and community locations all over Pickaway County. Books, videos, and music CDs for all ages are in the Outreach collection.

The Youth Services Department provides a variety of materials for children from infancy to middle school. There are several programs offered to preschool and school age children including storytimes, class visits, craft projects, and homework help.

This department processes library cards, fines and lost items, and checks materials in and out. Patrons are called, emailed, or texted to let them know when their reserved items are available.

The main objective of the Fiscal Office is to oversee the handling of all library fiscal affairs. This includes receiving and depositing all library funds, distributing by check all liabilities incurred, and maintaining all financial records of the library.

Collection Development & Technical Services Ext. 222

This department is responsible for selecting, ordering, and receiving library materials. This department also receives and evaluates materials donated to the library, and selects and orders materials when patrons want to give a monetary donation in memory of family or friends. This department processes all the new items purchased by the library. They create a computerized record for all library materials, which assists patrons and staff in locating items in the library.

This department provides library materials to patrons who are physically unable to come to the library or bookmobile and have no one to pick up materials for them. Materials are selected and checked out by Homebound staff and delivered to the home on a three-week rotation schedule.

The Reference/Information Center is the place for quick answers and general information – either by phone, in person, or by the Ask a Librarian form via the Internet. Help is available to place holds, find materials, use the automated catalog, and to assist with the Internet computers.

Storytime on Wheels-Outreach Ext. 247

Storytime On Wheels presents programs at preschool and public community sites in the county (at schools & daycares attendance is limited to enrollees). Programs involve story reading, with related singing, crafting and other activities. Sessions are primarily intended for children ages 3 to 5.

In loving memory of Floyd E Younkin, this is a full service branch located in Ashville, Ohio. Storytimes are available for toddlers and preschoolers during the school year, and summer reading programs are available for all ages including adults.
